I have read many posts about staging a home - how to make your home sell I think I even have a blog about this too!

However, I do not think I have read a post about staging a home with safety in mind

Here is a quick list of some things you should think about

  • Remove anything with a child’s name on it

  • Remove or lock up all firearms

  • Remove or lock up all valuables

  • Remove or lock up all medication

  • Remove or lock up all bills or anything with bank account numbers

  • Expensive art - may want to find some cheap replacements

  • Do not allow photo’s with your car in the driveway

  • Expensive clothes or furs? Remove and possibly take off-site

  • Put a lock or password on computers

  • No do not leave the home vacant - leave clothes in the closet and stage the home - Homes with expensive auto equipment and copper piping is a “great find” in a vacant home.

  • Yes, you can keep everything in one room or closet and lock it up - it can be opened for 2nd showing with verification of buyer and representation of your agent.
